I've never considered buying or combing fleece before. Maybe the You Tube videos will inspire me.
ReplyDeleteCombing is the only way to make "tops" for worsted spinning. Commercial top is combed in the factory. Combing lines up the fibers in a parallel formation AND gets rid of the short fibers. Carding leaves in the short fibers and only semi-lines them up. To get very smooth yarn you have to use combed top!
