Who is St. Seraphina?

Seraphina was a woman who lived in Tuscany, Italy in the 13th century. Despite her poverty and the humble situation of her life she always found time to help others who were less fortunate than herself. She was known for sewing and spinning to help clothe the poor. When Seraphina was still a young woman she was struck with a disabling, paralyzing disease. Unable to walk, her friends carried her on a board so that she could continue to visit her neighbors in need.

St. Seraphina is an example of self-sacrifice and sisterly love for all. She is the patron saint of the disabled, the handicapped, and spinners.
